Leading M&A Firm for the Supply Chain Sector, BG Strategic Advisors, Adds Transportation and Logistics Experts Thomas Cook and Mitchell Gordon to Its Investment Banking Team as Managing Director and Managing Partner.

West Palm Beach, FL (January 13, 2014) – BG Strategic Advisors today announced that Mitchell Gordon and Thomas Cook have joined the firm's transportation and logistics investment banking practice as a Managing Director and Managing Partner. They will focus on serving transportation companies, logistics firms, and the supply chain sector.

Mitchell Gordon has served as a top investment banker and executive for leading firms in the transportation sector.

Mitchell was President of Morpheus Capital Advisors, a leading Merchant Banking Firm serving middle market companies, from 2003 to 2013. In that capacity he provided capital markets and M&A advice, helped start a number of companies, and made principal investments in a wide range of companies.

Mr. Gordon was CFO, Executive Vice President, a member of the office of the President and served on the Board of Directors of Interpool, Inc. (NYSE: IPX) from 2000 to 2003. He helped grow Interpool into the world's largest container and chassis leasing company. During his tenure as CFO, Interpool's stock outperformed the S&P 500 by over 170%.

Prior to joining Interpool, Mitchell was President of Atlas Capital Partners, a private equity investment firm, which he founded. Mr. Gordon was formerly Managing Director and Co-Head of Salomon Smith Barney's Transportation Investment Banking Group. Prior thereto, he served as Senior Vice President and Head of the Transportation and Automotive Investment Banking Groups at Furman Selz. He has served as Vice President of Investment Banking at Needham & Company and was previously Manager of Strategic Planning for American Broadcasting Companies.

Mitchell has also served on the Board of Directors of two public companies, Interpool, Inc. and Indigo Aviation, as well as the global advisory board of NedShip Bank Group. He also served on the Board of Directors of Almedica Inc., a privately held pharmaceutical logistics company and serves on the Board of Directors of the Best-Shot Foundation as well as Mesa Airlines. He is the Chairman of the Hunter (CUNY) College Neighborhood Advisory Committee.

Mr. Gordon holds a BSBA from Washington University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Thomas Cook has been involved in the transportation industry for over 35 years. He has advised some of the largest corporations on supply chain management along with an array of transportation providers, association and industry partners.

Thomas started his career in the Merchant Marine and U.S. Navy, now honorably discharged. He served in numerous officer positions around the world heavily involved in transportation, logistics and supply chain management.

Mr. Cook is the author of over 12 books on global trade and is an expert in international business and supply chain operations.

Prior to joining BG Strategic Advisors, Mr. Cook was a Managing Director/CEO for 31 years at American River International (ARI) until April, 2013. ARI is a boutique consulting, training and logistics service provider based in New York. His firm was involved in several acquisitions and has been involved with BGSA for over ten years.

Thomas is involved in numerous industry organizations and companies as a lecturer, consultant and expert on global supply chain management.

Mr. Cook received an undergraduate and graduate degree in Transportation and Business Management form Maritime College in New York City.

David Saperstein has led many of the firm's most notable transactions, including the sales of PCD to Quality One Wireless, Open Mile to Echo Global Logistics (NASDAQ: ECHO), NESA to Liquidity Services (NASDAQ: LQDT), and Access Computer Products to Waste Management (NYSE: WM). David will continue to be responsible for originating and leading M&A transactions.

Before joining BG Strategic Advisors in 2010, David worked at Goldman Sachs in London where he advised on a range of M&A, LBO and capital markets transactions for companies including Cadbury, Kraft, TPG and Compagnie Financere Richemont.

Prior to Goldman Sachs, David worked in corporate finance at Deloitte in Paris and in business development at Military Advantage in San Francisco.

David received a Masters in Business Administration from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Stanford University.

Jason St. Onge has played an integral role in many of the firm's recent transactions, including the sales of PCD to Quality One Wireless, and Open Mile to Echo Global Logistics (NASDAQ: ECHO). Jason will continue to be responsible for executing M&A transactions and developing new business relationships.

Before joining BG Strategic Advisors in 2011, Jason worked at Windjammer Communications as an internal consultant focusing on M&A, finance, and operations.

Prior to Windjammer, Jason worked in private equity at Brantley Partners and in investment banking at Brown Gibbons Lang & Company, both in Cleveland, Ohio.

Jason received a Masters in Business Administration from the Stephen M. Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Richmond.
